When the Home env variable point to a partition, then the .config folder is not created correctly and fails

If I unset the HOME env then it starts correctly and creates the .config in the progdir.
I can set back my HOME env to Work: after that, although at start-up the erros are there again. But LiteXL2 works Ok.
About the partition name error, this is what happens when I select Work: or Games: or any other Volume without a path after it's name:
